InstAlaska Smartphone Photography Tour

Take your cell phone to amazing places sure to dazzle your friends, family and social media following. This fast-paced and fun smartphone photography tour travels from downtown Anchorage along the scenic Seward Highway for pano views of Turnagain Arm – a narrow stretch of salt water with mountains shooting up either side and amazing scenery any direction you look. Encounter a variety of subjects from breathtaking landscapes to kitschy or iconic Alaskana, and even stop for wildlife sightings en route, which might include Dall sheep, moose, beluga whale and bald eagle. What are you waiting for? Grab your selfie stick and get on board!

For this smartphone photography tour, we journey from the downtown Log Cabin Visitor Information Center at 4th & F Street to Bird Point Overlook, by way of Turnagain Arm, Indian Valley Mine, Chugach State Park, and Potter Marsh. Stops may vary depending on time of season and conditions.

This is a moderate activity level involving walking short distances up and downhill, on stairs and uneven terrain. Weather conditions may range from rain, wind, and sun, and temperatures from 45°F (7 °C) to 80°F (27°C). This is an all weather tour. Some of the best photo ops happen during rain, snow or fog, and wildlife tends to be more active in cool, wet weather.
