Alaska Photography Workshops

Alaska is an immense place, offering infinite photo opportunities. It is one of the best places in the world for adventures like photography workshops. The diverse range of potential subject matter includes land and marine wildlife from the collard pika to the polar bear, resident and migratory bird populations, mountains, glacial-studded coastlines, sand dunes, massive river systems, massive starry skies and dancing aurora borealis, and amazing Alaska events like the Iditarod. And the opportunities are year-round, offering different looks in all the seasons to expand potential for creativity and inspiration.

Our day tours provide brief photographic experiences with instruction, but our workshops take things to a new level. Rather than 4-6 hours, you experience 4-6 days of intensive field experience balanced with photo reviews and indoor classroom instruction (where possible). Join the camaraderie of a like-minded group that’s led by an expert, local photography instructor. We keep our instructor-to-guest ratio low to ensure you get the personal attention you need. Our Alaska photography workshops take place in diverse and remote regions of the state, where there’s no better place to take your photography to the next level. Accommodations run the gamut from rustic to surprisingly upscale lodging and culinary options. Most are all-inclusive or nearly all-inclusive, and there are options for all seasons. Check back regularly for upcoming dates and locations.

We can also design a custom workshop for a group; just let us know our interests, instructional goals, desired subjects, and budget. We also work with other photographers like Marisa Marulli of Further Photo Expeditions who enjoy our local expertise in designing and co-guiding Alaska-based workshops.
